February 18, 2026 – Flagler County Land Management is hosting its free, limited guided tour series called a “Walk in the Park.” The next walk will be held at Graham Swamp Conservation Area.
This tour begins at 9 a.m. sharp on February 25 at Graham Swamp Conservation Area. It is limited to 12 registrants, and participants are asked to arrive a little early for the safety briefing, and additional details about the two-hour hike – which is described as “easy,” on flat, level terrain with wide, well-maintained trails – stroller friendly for those with babies or toddlers.
Participants who register (an account must be created) – and sign the two waivers: liability and photo/video release – will meet at 8:45 a.m. the park’s east trailhead that is located at 5140 Colbert Lane, Palm Coast. Registration is open through February 24. The walk will be guided by Land Management Natural Resource Specialist Ralph Risch, a biologist with extensive, advanced knowledge of flora and fauna – an expert in his field.
“The 3000-plus acres of the Graham Swamp Conservation Area are among the last intact areas of Atlantic coastal swamp forest in Florida,” Risch said. “Our Walk will focus on experiencing the broad variety of plants and animals found in these increasingly rare habitats. Wintering songbirds and early migrants will be of prominence, so bring a pair of binoculars. Also, some unusual plants will take center stage, such as species of spider lily (Hymenocallis spc.).”
