January 21, 2026 – Flagler County officials want to inform residents that the main access point for the emergency dune restoration work will shift to River-to-Sea Preserve. The parking lot will be closed beginning February 2 (Monday) and is expected to reopen by March 13.
“The contractor will be working to demobilize and remove all equipment from MalaCompra Park and begin mobilization to River-to-Sea on Monday, February 2,” said County Engineer Hamid Tabbasian. “Sand deliveries will likely start on Friday (February 6).”
Officials ask residents and visitors to use caution around the construction equipment and sand delivery trucks.
MalaCompra Park will reopen early in February.
