May 26, 2026 – Boaters will receive a summertime reprieve as the boat basin dredging at Bings Landing is being postponed until after Labor Day.
“After further consultation with FIND (Florida Inland Navigation District), which is responsible for this project’s funding support, as well as receiving feedback from our local commercial and recreational boating industries, we have decided to postpone the dredging until after Labor Day,” said Interim County Administrator Adam Mengel.
The work was originally expected to commence on June 1, causing the boat launch to be closed for three weeks – the duration of the dredging.
The project to increase the depth of the deepest areas of the basin will be rescheduled sometime after Labor Day.
