March 4, 2025 – Flagler County officials are urging motorists who travel Old Kings Road south of State Road 100 to mind the temporarily reduced speed limit for the safety of contracted workers.
The action – referred to as an MOT, or Maintenance of Traffic – will be in effect intermittently until August 20. It is required because of the proximity of the work to the travel lanes on the west side of the roadway.
The speed limit drops 10 mph – either from 55 to 45 mph or from 45 to 35 mph, depending on the section of roadway. To eliminate confusion, the existing speed limit signs will have bags over them and the temporary speed limit signs are mounted below on the same pole.
Speeding Fines will be doubled within the areas of the reduced speed limits.
