March 16, 2026 – Don’t miss the opportunity to take the final “Walk in the Park” this season – hosted by Flagler County Land Management at the Graham Swamp Conservation Area, 5140 Colbert Lane, on March 25.
This tour begins at 9 a.m. sharp on March 25 and is limited to 12 registrants. Participants are asked to arrive a little early for the safety briefing, and additional details about the two-hour hike – which is described as “easy,” on wide, well-maintained trails.
Participants who register (an account must be created) – and sign the two waivers: liability and photo/video release – will meet at 8:45 a.m. at the park’s northeast trailhead that is located at 5140 Colbert Lane, Palm Coast (1/5 of a mile north of Lakeview Drive). Registration is open through March 24. The walk will be guided by Land Management Natural Resource Specialist Ralph Risch.
“The 3000-plus acres of the Graham Swamp Conservation Area is among the last intact areas of Atlantic coastal swamp forest in Florida. On its eastern edge it holds an equally rare local sandhill habitat remnant,” Risch said. “Our walk will focus on experiencing the broad variety of plants and animals found in these increasingly rare habitats. Wintering and migrant songbirds and will be of particular prominence, so bring a pair of binoculars. Also, some unusual plants will take center stage, the first blush of spring wildflowers.”
