Update meeting for 3 Hammock projects on September 30

September 15, 2025 – The Flagler County Engineering Department will hold an open-house style meeting from 5 to 7 p.m. September 30 (Tuesday) to review exhibits on three projects: First Avenue drainage; Jungle Hut resurfacing; and MalaCompra Canal improvement projects. The meeting will be held at the Hammock Community Center, 79 MalaCompra Road off State Road A1A.

“Participants will have an opportunity to review exhibits at three project stations,” said County Engineer Hamid Tabassian. “They can do this at their own pace, engage with staff, and provide input and comments to us.”

This combined meeting will provide updates and gather input on the following projects:

  • Jungle Hut Road Resurfacing – Design & permitting for resurfacing 0.75 miles of roadway from A1A to the east terminus of Jungle Hut Road.
  • MalaCompra Canal Restoration – Design & permitting for drainage improvements and canal restoration.
  • First Avenue Phase 2 – Design & permitting for a drainage system from MalaCompra Road to the north terminus of First Avenue.

“We encourage residents to attend and learn more about these important community projects,” Tabassian said.
