FDOT announces SR A1A intermittent lane closures with detours

January 2, 2025 – Flagler County officials are sharing word that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has announced intermittent lane closures with detours on State Road A1A near the intersection of 19th Street South for the week of January 6 through 10 in Flagler Beach.

FDOT will be doing asphalt work on State Road A1A from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

The intermittent lane closures will affect traffic in both directions, but the specific detours are dependent on the direction of travel:

  • Southbound lane closures – motorists will be detoured at South 19th Street to South Central Avenue, returning to State Road A1A at 20th Street South.
  • Northbound lane closures – motorists will be detoured at South 20th Street to South Central Avenue, returning to State Road A1A at South 19th Street.

Motorists should follow posted detour signs and use extra caution in the work zone. The work schedule is subject to change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
